Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

MSFGG4019 - Manage glass and glazing industry production scheduling

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Identify production and resource requirements

  1. Identify production requirements from analyses of sales forecasts, stock holdings and other relevant workplace documentation
  2. Identify and confirm production priorities by evaluating documentation and consulting with relevant internal and external personnel
  3. Identify the factors to be taken into account and the interrelationships between them when developing and managing the production schedule
  4. Determine raw materials, packaging, consumables, equipment and human resources are adequate to meet production requirements

Develop production schedules

  1. Consult with key production personnel to obtain required information about production opportunities and constraints
  2. Develop the production schedule using a planning application to achieve quantities, budgets, timelines and other production requirements, and to minimise costs and holdings of product and maximise production efficiency
  3. Document the production schedule in a format suited to relevant personnel and make it available to them

Monitor production schedules implementation

  1. Monitor production output against the schedule
  2. Identify variations and their causes between the schedule and output, and liaise with relevant personnel according to workplace procedures
  3. Identify and assess the impact on production of resource shortages and other potential and actual unforeseen events
  4. Identify and assess the impact of failures to meet delivery deadlines and other requirements and negotiate with relevant production personnel to rectify failures
